Exactly. What kind of ridiculous religion takes the act of procreation, the only way anyone can be born, and turns it into a sin? Everyone starts out with sin? Why does anyone buy into this?
Sorry, Suzi, that might be what you think, but it's not called "original sin" for nothing. Biblically, everyone is born a sinner.

I can think of one right off the top of my head. Man evolving from an apelike creature. No solid proof, and what they do know will change next spring. Original sin is not the same thing as one who commits sin. Original sin simply means that the proclivity to sin does exists within an individual. Even Christ himself came in the likeness of sinful flesh, according to the Bible, except he condemned sin by never sinning, by which now we can overcome, because he did.

Well, quite frankly... and statistically speaking, one out of three people in the whole world still cling to the doctrine of 'Original Sin' up to now!
I don't.
Peace be with you.

You misunderstand. We are each born with a "sin nature". Do you have to teach a child how to be selfish? No, you have to teach them to share. Do you have to teach them how to lie? No, they do it to get out of trouble, naturally. Left to its own devices, the flesh will always, always choose sin.

Agreed.
Becoming a parent made me realize how silly the idea of being born a sinner is.

Anyone who has ever raised a baby will realize that we are all born completely self-centered. We all have a tendency towards violence as well. Yes, my babies were beautiful and little miracles, but it doesn't take long to see that they have no cares beyond themselves.

Are you saying that everyone is nice all the time?
I think if babies were fluent in language--automatically when born, it would be apparent that they have their "dark side" as well...little kids certainly are not 'perfect little angels'

Goes right along with the rest of blind faith. Rationality is tossed in favor of ignorance and bliss.

You are wrong.
It does not imply that we are born with sin.
It means that we are born into a sinning world and will sin, one day, just like the rest of the world.
