Yes, that's their actual belief. They think a girl was a virgin, stayed a virgin while having sex, was a pregnant virgin, was a virgin after having a baby. I went to the first grade in a Catholic brainwashing academy and all we ever heard was Mary, Mary and more Mary. I know that the girl just had sex with Joseph, was pregnant, had the baby, went ahead with married life and had several more.
I was expelled from that Catholic school.

As a former catholic I still don't understand the need for Mary to remain a virgin after Jesus birth. I may be wrong but I think it stems from the belief that sex is original sin. Why else would they think she needed to refrain from sex accept they seem to hold her up in an unrealistic pedastel. It also begs to explain why there is mention of Jesus brothers in the new testament.

You mean that Joseph was married to some young hottie (she is refered to as "fair" if I remember correctly..), and they NEVER did it???? I'm pretty sure they didn't do it while she was pregnant with Jesus, but after?? Sorry if I sound kinda skeptical, but... They WERE married.
Sorry, I don't believe it either.
As Miranda J said, according to Jewish law at the time, any woman who was sexually abstinant before her wedding and was completely manogamous after, only doing it with her husband, was considered a virgin.... So if that's accurate, then she was a virgin her whole life....
I heard that Jesus had at least 2 brothers and multiple sisters. The original Greek text of Galations 1:19 implies that "James, the Lord's brother" had the same parents... or at least that they were raised by the same couple...

I have heard that one before, and yes, many people believe it. I don't, but then, it's really hard to believe that a woman who was married didn't have sex EVER with her husband. I do believe she was a virgin until after the birth of Christ, but it's pretty unbelievable that she would stay that way after.
In Jewish culture- during Christs time- a woman was considered a virgin if she kept within the confines of that marriage, meaning, she only had sex with her husband. So, by Jewish law, she was a virgin her whole life.

Jesus had brothers thru his mother. We are not to worship the creature but the creator. Luke 12:2-3, "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. THEREFORE whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and THAT WHICH YE HAVE SPOKEN IN THE EAR IN CLOSETS SHALL BE PROCLAIMED UPON THE HOUSE TOPS". Dont be quilty of going into one of these closets/confessionals and whispering in a man's ear your secrets expecting them to be hid from God because all whispered there will be told upon the house tops for all to hear.

As a virgin, Jesus was not conceived through human sexuality, so yes, she maintained her virginity. But, after the birth of Jesus, she and Joseph had a normal marriage and she had other children.

yes their are some who see certain books in the Apocrypha as true even though the holy bible states Jesus had younger brothers and sisters. their is another apocryphal book that says Joseph was a virgin too and another which says when he married Joseph he never had sex again.
