I buy most of my paint at Home Depot. I've had the best luck with Behr Paint which runs between $ 18 -$ 25.

The price of paint has nothing to do with color, and everything to do with the finish and the brand name.
Debbie Travis paint for example runs at about $30 a gallon, while Premier paint ranges from $25-28 a gallon. The glossier the finish, the higher the price will be.
Consider the walls that you are painting, because if they are very rough or have a lot of noticeable flaws, then Flat paint will be the best choice, and it is also the cheapest of all the finishes.

The biggest factor will be the quality of the paint, but whatever you do, don't try to save money by purchasing cheap paint, especially for public rooms! Cheap paint is cheap for a reason and you'll regret it sooner than you think. At the least, go for a mid-grade quality, but remember that the better the quality you start with, the better the end results and the less likely you'll be to have to re-do the job to soon.

All paint manufacturers have various qualities of paint both in gloss, matt, silk, emulsion, acrylic, and the prices vary enormously, but for the average emulsion paint if that is what you intend to use, all the DIY stores are about the same price, around £10.00=$18.00 per gal. in the UK.
