build muscle. it'll take your extra fat.(fat that didn't get burn)
i don't exactly remember how.
drink lots of water, eat nuts and raisins to increase metabolism
workout.
eat healthy.
eat slowly, because it takes awhile for food to digest, so
it takes awhile to be full after eating.
eating slowly will allow you to know when you're full to eat less.
don't sit in front of the tv while eating.
pretty much pay attention only to your food when you eat
also allow your body to tell you when you're hungry, when it growls, eat.
do aerobic exercises
do 2 30min exercises then have a 20 min break you'll lose more wight than not taking breaks at all
play music that you enjoy, or music that makes you feel like dancing to you'll exercise more/longer
you can run in one place for 15 min per day or more.
or run up and downstairs. or jog/run/walk around your block.
then slowly increase the time, by 5 min per day.
and if you're gonna do sit-ups, cutches, pull=ups, etc. add 10 per day
starving will get you skinnier but at the end of it when you eat normally again your body will be saving it,
and you'll gain weight faster
like bears saving their food for the winter.
also laughing for 10-15 minutes
burns75 calories
If you get cravings in afternoon, it means you're not getting enough food in the day.
Have and extra half apple, or an extra of something healthy for breakfast or have a snack before
yur usual cravings start everyday.

Hello :-) ! I really like a few answers on here. I have had the same problem all my life, until I started training with great personal trainers. I am eating healthily now, am more aware of what I am eating now. Am really savouring everything now.
What really can help is a food diary, where you will note how you are feeling before and after you have been eating. Have noticed with chcolate (and I used to be a real sugar addict) that it often makes me feel worse than before.
As I know I would fall into chocolate again if I started, I am not buying any anymore because I have discovered really healthy, non-sigary tasting foods such as fruits. Also knowing now that junk food will not make me feel better, Instad, I eat fruit.
I used to be really big and I can really say that my personal trainers saved my life as I am living now and taking responsibilities for my life. Don't know whether you are overweight or not, but yes, exercise can help. If you would like some help with your training, this site offers online training as well: www.getfit.lu. Plenty of really helpful information on there too :-) .
Good luck and Take care!

Well, a little chocolate every now and then isn't going to kill you. But if you want to stop eating it all together try not keeping a lot in your house, out of site out of mind. You could also settle for something similar. They sell chips that are healthier then some of the more salty greasy ones, buy those instead. Also you could put a small amount of chocolate on something healthy like a banana and then freeze it for desert, it's not as bad as a big chocolate sunday! You could also try making healthy things that look just as good as some unhealthy foods, like a fruit salad or something. Try making eating healthy just as enjoyable as eating unhealthy. Just because it's healthy doesn't make it any less tasty. I hope some of these ideas help.

get the bad snacks out of your house! you realize how hard it is for you to resist temptation, so prevent it from being possible.
Dont carry change or singles so you cant use snack machines at school or work either.
figure out what it is about those snacks that you crave, then find healthy subsitiutes. For example, instead of chips try unbuttered popcorn with a little salt. For chocolate get used to eating dark chocolate - and im not talking hersheys dark, im talking real dark .. look for chocolate bars with above 65% cocoa content and low sugar. this has alot of antioxidants and is good for you! plus it is so strong a chocolate, you only need a little bit to get rid of your craving. Instead of fruity chewy candy like gummi bears or starburst, get into unsweetened dried fruit. health food stores usually have alot of these in bulk. be careful tho that you look for ones that are UNsweetened, the extra sugar is unessesary and makes it just as unhealthy as eating candy.
another idea is to accept it. if you are not overweight its not too bad to eat an unhealthy snack now and then. there is a psychological trick that we tend to binge when we refuse ourselves something. inside we are all a bit of a rebel. so the more you try to resist, the more you will want it, and then you will end up eating too much and feeling guilty about it. instead just let yourself have a small taste and enjoy it fully.
hope some of those ideas help!

i used to be a size 6 and could eat junk for breakfast lunch and dinner... as ive got older my mentabolism has obviously slowed down and im finding that if i even look at junk food i put on weight.... i am now a size 12 and although not completely unhappy with my curves i do so wish that i didnt crave the junk.... i try to cook healthy dinners but in the evenings i comfort eat... crisps are my biggest downfall.... the best thing is to not have the temptation around me and to limit the amount of junk i buy when i go shopping cos if its there i cant stop thinking about it and can not resist eating it all then as you say get the guilt trip but i try not to beat my self up to much.... do what you enjoy in life cos its to short....

I think its madness to avoid these foods altogether - they are all part of the range of foods for us to enjoy. However, if you can, fill your cupboards up with alternatives - start by introducing healthier snacks - they don't have to be perfect right now, just the odd cereal bar or something so you wean yourself off the other stuff. There should be some chocolate in any house - I find cheap mousses quite good - sold next to yoghurts - just for the sweet attack. I also use caramel flavoured snack-a-jacks for that too. Instead of crisps and chips - fantastic now and again - change over to baked snacks until your craving for rubbish leaves you. There are good baked spicey flavoured snacks in the crisp aisle at supermarkets. Once you get to like all these things, you can then start eating even better stuff like seeds and dried fruits - I love the rubbish and the healthier stuff and I often choose seeds now over crisps because I like the flavours. Its introducing the brain to new stuff!

Think of an area of your body that you dont want any fat on - give it a name (if it hasn't got one already) - then everytime you get an urge for junk food repeat the name of that bad area to yourself three times
I did it. Everytime i fancied chocolate or a cake, I'd say "MAN BREASTS, MAN BREASTS, MAN BREASTS" It worked
Also, so many people don't eat a breakfast. Have a big breakfast - a massive bowl of porridge maybe - fcuk - it may not taste nice, but it will fill you up and stop your urges for junk food.

Your body is designed to crave what it needs (minerals etc), eat only when you are hungry not just because it is lunchtime for example, and eat the food you actually feel like eating that moment. If you want chips and chocolate 24/7 then go to the doctors.

Keep fruits and healthy snacks within reach in the house and carry some when you go. once in a while when the craving hits, bake a small portion of your chips in the oven or get the smallest pack of your favourite chocolates (avoid a big pack because you will be tempted to finish it). most importanly remind yourself why junk food is bad for you.

it's ok to eat junk food once in a while. just don't wait til the craving gets too bad so you don't overeat. I allow myself one meal a week when I can order whatever I want. I try to eat really well all week so I can have something not as healthy when I go out. also, if you eat it very slowly, even holding it in your mouth without chewing for a few seconds, it will help you not eat so much.

find things that have chocolate in them since you like it but that has a low fat. for example i take a kellogs fitnesse bar and it has bits of chocolate in it but only has 90 calories in it.it's hard i know, i'm trying to do the same thing, but you have to keep telling yourself to stop. say to yourself "i dont want to eat this, i dont want to get fat' or something like that. you can stikll take junk food once in a while but try working out as well. it takes up more of the time and it encourages you not to eat more than you should or than you want to.gd luck
