How very original! Actually, the name "Emmanuel", a title sometimes applied to the promised Jewish messiah, means "God among us," so the idea is not all that odd. There has always been a longing to have closer contact with God, to be able to see God as a friend and companion rather than a judge. And in certain parts of scripture, God feels the same way.

If God was one of us it would be HELL! Because some of us have hell or evil in us. Some of us hurt people, kill, basically just not right. So what if GOD was one of those people that didn't like you. Your DOOMED! GOD is love and some of us don't have love in us.

He wouldn't be God, He would just be one of us. We believe in Him through faith, even though we can't see Him physically, if he was one of us, what would be the point in believing?
