I called the airline and quite rudely he informed that it is up to the people at the counter the day of my flight. Im sure they will let him through, I need help because I have to pump breast milk as close to the time of take- off as possible, which would be too hard with my baby in tow.

I would call the airline and check what their policy are. I know thy allow assistance sometime. My mother suffers from dementia flew to Floridia I accompanied her to the gate and my brother met her at the gate when she arrived. If your stepfather is not allowed to accompany you maybe you could get assistance from the airline. You could request a wheelchair and the baby could travel in your lap through the airport

I work for American Airlines and sorry to say this but most likely no. Usually we only allow gate passes if your picking up or dropping off an unaccompanied minor since they are under age or if you are mentally challenged. We aren't allowed to give gate passes in your situation I know it sucks however if the person at the counter is real nice they might or they'll ask their manager or you can always ask to speak to a manager.

You can get a gate pass for your step-dad at the airline's ticket counter in the airport, whe you check in. I've gotten them in the past (after 9/11) to meet my minor granddaughter and help her when she changed aircraft at our airport.

I doubt it, unfortunately TSA is a faceless entity. You could call your airline and ask them, and if they say no, they should be able to provide you someone to assist you past the clearance area.
