If it has any spots of black still on its beak, it's a young bird, about 2 months old or so.

If it's a male and has hardly any stripes or black bar, but that develops over time, then it's probably within 6 months old.

Otherwise, it can be difficult to tell. But if you plan to breed it, it's best to be safe and wait at least 9 months - 1 year.

The only thing you'd really be able to determine as far as age is concerned is whether or not it's a juvenile or adult bird - and this can be done based on it's coloration.
Though - if your bird is banded there is a chance there may be a year indicated and you'd at least be able to tell what year it was fledged.

Goggle this info, or get a book and read it, or call a bird breeder and ask.
