Why do people on this site continue to insinuate that military personnel are stupid?

Because they think that military personnel have no intellect what-so-ever and they think that if military personnel did have some intelligence that they would have never enlisted in the first place and would have gotten a job elsewhere. Being in the military goes against their belief that people who do bad things are simply misunderstood and that we really should not punish them for their transgressions.

Well if you think about it in some ways we are stupid. Just think about it if you were a liberal you would spend at least ten years in school. Suck money, food and everything else off of your friends, family and the government. All the time being told that they are smart and everyone else is stupid. Keep in mind that they are also get to live in a free and safe country as well. Now us on the other hand crawl through the mud, sand and everything else work all hours day and night and get an MRE for chow and like it. To give them the freedom that they enjoy. I say let them think what they want we know we have the best job in the world. That's right we are members of the US Armed Forces. The pay is in more than just money.

Allowing yourself to be baited into one of those situations just lends to substantiate the morons theory.

Check the other questions and answers the person has submitted and you will likely find that all they do is BAIT people.

Ignore them and they will get tired and stop. A sick mind is fed by people paying attention to their childish behavior. Once again if you ignore them they will leave in disgust.

I will add that if you give a detailed and correct answer to an off the wall question citing references that really tweaks their kink.

Its partly a load of 'old cobblers'!..If the average American 'grunt' on the ground was bloody stupid, then they wouldnt survive the day!..And they do!..Ergo, their not bloody stupid!..Where this all comes from, and we in the rest of the world see it all the time, is your Generals making absurd statements all the time!..And its not all their fault either!..Their being 'scripted' from Washington by 'spin doctors' who havnt a clue!..Its all for your consumption at home to make you feel good about a war you cannot win!..This happened in Vietnam!..I remember General Westmorland all over Saigon, saying "We's killin' arl them Gardless Carmoonists!"It was absolute bullshine!..But he'd been told to say it!..He came out of it, in the end, looking and sounding like a buffoon!..This is exactly what is happening in Iraq now!..The generals are looking and sounding like a bunch of John Wayne style "Go fer y' gern mr. podner" fools!..And they are anything but that!..Its all political spin for home consumption!..Dont anybody please say the US military are stupid!..Look to the Washington PR people, and you will find the real culprits!..

They have to belittle military personnel to bring the ppl of the military "down" to their level.

This site seems to have become a magnet for anti-military people to vent, rant, troll, and flame. So to get a reaction, they target what they perceive to be a vulnerability.

I think many of them fail to perceive that there is a difference between intelligence and wisdom, probably because most of the trolls have neither.

I think this is a typical type of statement partisan boneheads make which they know aren't true in order to stir up anger. I haven't seen disrespect for the military in any of these posts.
PS: Re the other question you posted, that was a dumb thing for her to say and she got rightfully slammed for it. I can't say everybody on this board is bending over to be polite - how about the guy just below me calling someone an a**hole and c*cksucker? (he got 6 positive votes for it too by people supporting your statement.)
Other than that, I've seen lots of people disagreeing with the war, very few disrespecting the soldiers in any way.

I'm a navy nuke on a submarine and the coners (guys up forward) are complete morons. Skimmers are dumber than coners and the marines i have met are pretty much borderline retarded. So in my 3 and half years of service i have come to the conclusion that 75% of people in the military are in fact stupid. Even fellow nukes do not have common sense so they are idiots as well. And people wonder why i dont re-enlist.

There not stupid, there smarter than the average person, who care about their country and will defend it. But they never started this war for Israel, bush did. But they have to fight this false war. I feel sorry for them.
