Sounds like a stainless jobbie with synthetic stock. 350 sounds about the ballpark figure for it. Love and admire your choice of caliber; 30-06 and 8mm Mauser are the two most perfect calibers ever created by humans.

If it's current O.F. Mossberg it can only be one of two different rifles being made these last few years. You didn't give a model number so here are values for both current guns.

Mossberg Model 4X4 with 4-5 shot detachable magazine .
Retails for $425.00 In 95% Condition worth $315.00
or
Mossberg Model 100ATR with top loading magazine.
Retails for $349.00 In 95% Condition worth $285.00

Both of the above rifles came in compact packages with or without Simmons scope. If yours came with a scope add $55 to the above values.
These are prices based on August 2007 market values for Dealers and are updated monthly. I use this as a basis for my Appraisel business, part of my Gun Shop business. You can count on these figures as accurate.

Your getting ripped off for a Mossberg 30.06 bolt action.

By $50 bucks.

Unless its in a combo with a scope you need to shop around. They are only $298 at Academy Sporting Goods. Check the link.

Big 5 always has weekly specials and these rotate on a regular basis. My policy is, don't buy a gun from Big 5 unless it's on sale price.

If you are real nice with the store staff and go when it's not busy, like Tuesday morning, I have found they they will tell you what next weeks specials are and I have even have them give me the sale price when it's actuially not on sale. Make friends!

If it's from a retail gun store, then yes, if it's from a private individual, then no.
