I am an active duty soldier that was slated to separate via ETS from the U.S. Army in about two weeks, but yesterday a blanket stop loss was issued, and now I will have been involuntarily extended two more years. Keeping in mind I have been back from a previous tour in Iraq for about 45 days, according to MILPER MESSAGE 06-232, I have probable cause to dispute this if apparently I am in a 90 day redeployment window and affected by stop loss. Could anyone give me some insight to this, or get me on track with the necessary steps to take to get this time sensitive exception rolling? Well well here we go again. First off read your enlistment contract (turn over the first page and read that entire statement on the back or go to your OMPF and read the second page of the contract. It clearly and plainly states what can and will happen to you in the time of war. The Army has the right to extend your contract in time of war until six month after the said war is over. Only the President has the authority to release you prior to that time. You volunteered for this and know what could happen. If you joined after 9-11 you really knew what was going on. If you have a ligament reason to not deploy ie physically or mentally unfit for duty in a combat environment, or suddenly decided to be a Conscientious objector. You are obligated to do you duty (see army values) If you just don’t want to go because you don’t like the war or the president then you must Suck it Up warrior and go.
No if you are not to deploy in 90 days and you are just falling under a blanket stop loss see your command with a 4187 and attempt to state you case and have it waived.
And 50% of the soldiers do not disagree with the war they just don’t like having to be over her and fight it. We all would rather be home with our kids. Think about this your brother, sister, or cousin could be over here waiting on there replacements and if you whole unit decide to do what you want now they continue to be in harms way and are extended even longer because of you. Personally I Hate being away from my Kids but I take my oath very seriously.

This has been a favorite tactic of the Bush administration! It is called a De Facto draft!

They just discharged 22,000 of your buddies at Ft. Carson for "pre-existing personality disorders"! Most have 1 tour in Iraq and some 2 tours. Many have Purple Hearts and some were within 20 feet of a bomb blast! They discharged them because they didn't want to pay them! Pre-existing personality disorders my rear! If they found that on enlistment, why did they train them and send them to Iraq?

You are one of the reasons that over 50% of the active military are against the war in Iraq according to the last poll done by the Army Times! Bush had them pull that off the net, but I have a copy!

Good luck to you. Stay safe and visit your Senator if they are not a Republican!

Best bet, 1. go threw your PAC and submit a 4187.
2. Talk with your chaplain.
3. Contact your Congressman.

Good Luck
