before cooking? [[ I generally use 'Riceland Extra Long Grain Enriched Rice' ]]

My mother taught me to rinse it, before throwing it in the cooking pan to fry.

Is it advisable to do so?

there are arguements for both sides

wash it if you want to have it very white and lose some of the starchyness ( not as sticky when cooked)

or don't if you want to keep all nutrients

Yes, you should rinse rice at least three times to get rid of the dust.

Yes. It helps to rinse off extra starch and impurities that rice gets in the milling process.

I always rinse it because you never know if something from the rice mill is still on the rice hull. It's cleaner, and does not affect the taste of the rice at all.

Yeah, always rinse the rice... as long as you don't rinse it too much, my dad says you'll wash away all the goodness of it??? Don't ask me!

I rinse mine first, but not after. The starch on it helps the sauce to stick to it. It works for us.

I don't see why not? Ever since I have watched my grandma or my mum cook, I have seen them rince rice. I do it as well. My mum taught me to do it twice before cooking it.
