Being Italian, I would make either my mom's great lasagne recipe with lots of hamburger and sausage, ricotta cheese, homemade sauce;
or
\chicken pargmiagiana -- breaded boneless chicken breast cutlets, browned and then baked with sauce, parm. cheese and mozerella on top. Served with a side of pasta and a nice salad with homemade Olive oil and vinegar dressing.
Another stick to your ribs meal I like to make is my homemade chili -- lots of hamburger (mixed with my special ingredients to make it more soft and not crumbly) , pork, 2 or 3 different kinds of beans, salsa, tomato paste, peppers, onions. and lots of chili seasoning. Serve with Frito's corn chips, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.

I think anything homecooked is great knowing someone took the time and effort to make this meal... a nice bottle of red wine will compliment ANY meal!
Enjoy!

Hmmmmmm Homecooking! For me it's Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Potatoe Salad, and crackers. My second choice is good ole' fashion barbeque with homemade mac and cheese and slow cooked baked beans with garlic bread
