what kind of health problems can develope from cleaning up pigeon droppings; and what are the symptoms?

Im unsure what you can actually get from them, however I do know that they carry alot of diseases. Always use gloves and clean up very well afterwards. If you think you picked up something while cleaning make sure to go to the Dr. right away some of the things you can catch are serious.

One problem with regards pigeons is from the spores the bird sheds when it flaps its wings, these can cause Lung Infections, particularly so from the town living birds which eat lots of garbage, I would suggest some sort of a mask if getting in close with them.

YES! chicken feces also in a major contributor to respiratory infections.
