Premature ejacualation is a serious problem. We shouldn't go around labelling people as "minutemen" just because they suffer from this very treatable disorder.

On a possibly related question, what, exactly, does it mean when I read that Dick Cheney "shot someone in the face"?

I do believe there is a Men's Health section that this question is more accurately aligned with. And I'm sure with your experience in the subject, your advice would be helpful to others suffering from it.
But that Jim Gilchrist: now he's a REAL man! Proud military. Proud American. Current day John Wayne kinda guy.

It actually refers to people who came here via boats from a small island Minute (My-nute)which is about 1500 miles off the shore of Hawaii back in the early 1700's. Their descendants are called minuteman, minutemen or minutewoman/women. Hope this helps.

Minutemen were a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly back in the 18th century.
They were also were the first armed militia to arrive or await a battle.
They were called minutemen because they "could be ready in a minute".
Cool, huh ?

You silly -- "Minutemen" were named during the Revolutionary War because they were able to get ready for war in about a minute.
The current "Minutemen" on the Mexican border are paying homage to those men by adopting their name.
