Because Jesus rose on the 3rd day and went to the heavens to be at the right hand of the Father. the meaning of Christian is a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Jesus Christ; one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are as Christians striving to come in the fullness of His Spirit, more Christ-like. :) so that when people see us they see Him in us.

A unique aspect of the Christian religion is the idea of eschatological salvation. The idea that salvation is now yet in the end (just think of the cliche so near yet so far).
Christians believe that Christ died for our sin and as such through him we are saved. However, this salvation is not permanent for this has to be continually lived in our every day life. Not because you are justified, does it mean you dont have to do anything.

Jesus died for all of us, to know Him, be set free from sin and spirtual death. HE calls us all, but only a few will go to Him and love Him and obey Him, as is commanded. Because of the grace of God, we have been forgiven when we ask, repent, turn from sins and obey God till the end. absolutley. Then He calls us righteous and we go to heaven. All are called, only a few will answer. Those that obey that God calls righteous are the ones going to heaven. Other will say athey love God, but dont honor Him in obedience. Even the devil believes, so obviously thats not enuff to be saved.
Why are their still christians? Same reason as why there are still non believers. Jesus hasnt come back yet, but He is coming soon, and will take home with Him in raptures those He deems as righteous, the rest will stay and go thru the great tribulation. Not something I would wish on anyone, but they made that choice by rejecting God. same with hell. God doesnt choose that for anyone. They choose hell by rejecting God.
This is real and this is truth, whether you believe it or not. Gods truths are truth, no matter how popular or unpopular they are. ITs not about me and its not about you. ITs only what God says in His Holy Word, THe Bible. Get one, read it, know it study it and see you have a chance to be deemed righteous also. Follow Jesus all the way, repent of your sins and turn from them. accept Jesus as your Lord, and all will be given to you. Run today tho, as we have to do this before we die or He comes again, and that is SOOOOOOOON> Much to celebrate.

Well, because Jesus died for our sins is the only reason there are Christians, no doubt. Otherwise most of us would be Jews, as we were.

Because some people choose to accept His sacrifice and some don't. Those that do are Christians.

No offense but I have my views to this believe of CHRISTIANS:
Christian believes is like this = If Mr. A {take him as CHRISTIANS} kills and POLICE first brutally arrest Mr. Z {take him as Jesus (peace be upon him)}for this crime despite clearly knowing that Mr. A did that crime & then COURT pass a VERDICT that Mr. Z should be hang till death despite clearly knowing that Mr. A killed a person. = & this is justice for CHRISTIANS.
Christians chose one thing! PLZ DON’T B A GREATEST HYPOCRITE - Either u r free do to any any any crime OR u r abide to do GOOD to enter HEAVEN. And if u r free to do any crime then it means God doing injustice that someone else took ur punishment which is not God's property AND if u r abide to do good then JESUS not took ur punishment.
BOTH WAYS CHRISTIANITY IS PROVED THAT IT IS NOT FROM GOD AND JESUS (pbuh) BUT FROM Saint Paul (THE GREAT MISINTERPRETER).
Do u want a "free license" to CRIME? If u? Then convert to CHRISTIANITY bcoz JESUS took their punishment :^O

Because people have confused him with God. It's not their fault, they don't know any better. No one ever explained to them what a messiah was, or what THE Messiah was supposed to be and do.
