Is there any major viens on the side of your lip that you can injure by piercing your lip yourself?

I want to pierce my lip myself but i want to make sure there is no viens that i can hit in the process. What should i be looking for when im piercing it . .I dont know , just tell me what you know about it ????

There is something called the labial artery and vein. But don't worry about hitting it. The professional piercing peple don't even know about it. You should worry about infections in the lip hwoever, and that a lip infection can be potentially debilitating and seriously maiming. Ufff DO NOT pierce them yourself. You'll get a nasty infection and then develop scar tissue. Lips are soo easy to mess up and even a small scar looks horrible. Your lips are really dense with nerves and they are what make kissing pleasurable. After your piercing, you may never be able to feel a kiss the way you felt it before. If you think the piercing is worth the risk, go ahead...but otherwise have another type of piercing (eyebrow maybe)?

If you're dead set that you want a facial piercing, please, have a professional do it. The first responder is absolutely correct. If you don't know what you're doing, you can cause a lot of damage.

I would ask that you reconsider it though. Facial piercings, like tongue piercings can cause a lot of tooth damage. Enamal erosion, chipped teeth, etc. More trouble than they're worth.

It's not the veins you need to worry about...you have nerves in your face that, if you pierce thru them, can cause facial paralysis...do you want to go the rest of your life with one side of your face drooping, looking like you had a stroke? Have a professional do it.

Don't pierce your face. It looks ridiculous. If you need attention that bad, look for something else.
