Neither Bush nor Cheney were anywhere near the presidential office when ANY of the planes both the US and Russia have in their inventory were proposed, designed, and then put into service.

Let me give you a history lesson...
Current Fighters and Bombers/Date of active service:

US...
A-10: 1977
F-15: 1976
F-16: 1978
F/A-18: 1983
F-111: 1967
F-22: Maiden flight - 1997
F-35: Projected date of 2011
B-52: 1955
B-1: 1986
B-2: 1997

Russia...
MiG-15: 1948
MiG-17: 1954
MiG-19: 1955
MiG-21: 1960
MiG-23: 1970
MiG-25: 1970
MiG-27: 1975
MiG-29: 1983
MiG-31: 1983
MiG-33: 1989
MiG-35: 2005
SU-27: 1984
SU-33: 1994
SU-34: 2007
SU-35: 1988
TU-95:1952
Tu-160: 1987

Ahhhhhh yes. I can see how Bush and Cheney effected the design of both the United States and Russias military aircraft. How about you do some research before you formulate a half-assed opinion.

The espionage went both ways and had nothing to do with Bush and Cheney.
There is a superficial resemblance between many of the aircraft of all sides including the British etc. This is due to the aerodynamic properties of different shapes. Some shapes are more suitable for a particular flight regime.

Having said that compare the F104 Star fighter with the MiG21 same job many significant differences.

The MiG 29 and F 16 were developed at the same time for the same job and the results of 1v1 tests by the German Air force actually show that if the F16 does not get an Amraam kill it is dead, the MiG will nail it in the dogfight.

Never make fun of the enemy, you could die laughing.

Yeah, Bush and Cheney are talking to them much like Mariah Carey is talking to me.

The Ruskies have copied many of our planes because they lacked the creativity to be original. Hell, we even did a lend-lease program for them in WW2 and they still had the audacity to copy those without the rights.

Anyways, their designs are getting a lot better, but their cold war aircraft are nothing much than hunks of crap.

Damn! Are you going to start blaming the President for dirty windows at the White House? Russian planes look like ours for two reasons. First, that design is the most efficient from an aerodynamic principle. Secondly, the design of Russian planes is a testament to their successful espionage efforts over the past six decades.

The Russians have the best Armour and have always been in the development of better equipment. As for their MiG 29, it is by far one of the best fix wing fighters on earth, and it is all their idea.
