Raw Oysters - an acquired taste.
Broccoli Rabe - used to think it was bitter. I was wrong.
Clams anyway - never liked them now from raw to Casino to Oreganato
Escargot - If you told me I would eat snails I would have barfed.
Mushrooms - when I was young I thought they were all poison.

I could not stand steak, because it's hard to chew.
Did not like onions, because my mom cut them too big...!
Now I love onions, for flavor, that what you use them for!!!
And I love steak, because I can order it the way I like it!!
Needless to say it's not that I don't like it, it's just the way it was cooked or prepared.... (mom was not the best cook) but we never ate out, it was very rare when I was growing up.....
Now that I am a mother and have 2 kids of my own, I remember the things I did not like and try to think of their feelings instead of just putting something on the table.......

Tons of food. Mainly vegetables. Like most kids, I only ate peas and corn. Now as an adult I LOVE vegetables. I love asparagus (amazingly my kids do too, but when I was their age I would have never even tried it!). They say that your taste buds "change" every 7 years. I don't know how true that is, but I think most adults eat things they wouldn't as a kid.

All veggies. Wouldn't touch them as a kid. Now I love them all (except a couple of the green leafy ones). Coffee and beer were both aquired tastes for me in adulthood. I think it was because all these things were bitter. As a baby all we taste is sweet, then salty and sour taste buds develop, and lastly bitter. That's why most people still perfer in that order. sweet, salty, sour, bitter.

Quite a lot!
I disliked eggs in all forms as a child; I still couldn't eat an egg on its own, but I now enjoy quiche. Similarly with mushrooms; I still couldn't eat a stuffed mushroom or a mushroom on its own, but don't mind mushrooms in sauces or as an ingredient.
Thinking back, things that I really actively disliked as a child I've much more frequently learned to "tolerate" as an ingredient, than learned to "love" as a separate food. The only things that I thought I disliked as a child but now love (such as yoghurt) were things that I hadn't actually tasted. But I can't think of a single instance of a food that I tasted as a child and disliked, and now actively enjoy.
I disliked all vegetables, but now can enjoy them in combination with other foods, though I think that this is because my mother - bless her - overcooked them British-style; I'd have had a better chance of enjoying them younger if they'd been steamed or stir-fried, I'm sure.
Unfortunately there were some foods that I loathed as a child but was forced to eat, and now have a permanent (I suspect) dislike for. I think it was being forced to eat them, so I now don't force my children to eat anything. (Different to letting them eat whatever they like - I give them a plate full of healthy food and they can choose which bits of it they eat.) For me, this list includes mashed potato (I was staggered to discover as an adult that there are people who actually like it!), fish of any kind, and rabbit (not too common so doesn't really affect my life, but it's one on the list).
Interesting question! It's prompted me to ask my own - how we can train ourselves to enjoy foods that we dislike but we know are healthy for us, as I'd like to further expand my cuisine.

Broccoli- I hated it as a child and refused to take another bite, after 1st time I tried it. They I started eating a lot of Chinese food and cooking stir fries at home. So as an adult, broccoli is one of favorite foods. Love anything Chinese food that has broccoli in it and any stir fry I get has to have broccoli included.

French cheese for instance took me a long time to appreciate because when I was younger I liked sweeter things and tastes that weren't as complex.

I think just about everyone grows into salads and grown-up cereals. I hated any kind of nuts. I kept buying them after reading all the good press and now I’m addicted. I also hated yogurt and now I can’t imagine going one day without it.

I hated spinach growing up, and now it's one of my favorites. I sauteed onions, garlic and salted codfish and then add the spinach and my god it's to die for. It is really good, especially eaten with some white rice.
I never liked Pizza, but now I eat it,, still not one of my favorite foods.
I basically didn't care for vegetables as a kid , but now I eat vegetables everyday, it's part of my everyday diet and boy they are so good.
