Why are you at the R&S section? Should we petition YA to start a new section for you? Maybe there is a section I do not know about and you feel lead to come here and keep us on our toes?

Where else would we discuss religion?
Just because we don't buy into religious superstition doesn't mean were not affected by it. Religions do a lot of harm to society. We're just trying to educate people about this.

As an agnostic, I'm here to make Christians better Christians (and atheists better atheists) by goading them to think about what they believe. There are too many Christians (or Muslims, Hindus, etc.) who use their beliefs as a weapon against people who don't think as they do. They don't examine their personal faith or behavior for validity or consistency. They just plaster a holy label over what they would have been doing anyway.

i'm here to see the difference, of religion and culture. i am called atheist, mainly because i don't believe in God the way most other people do. and, technically one does not have to believe in God to be spiritual, they're to different things. so if a section is called religion and spirituality, i have the same right as you to be here, so smile and don't get into an flaming auto accidents.

Here is a thought...
Block everyone that doesn't agree with you, it will be like having your own little section.
Other then that...free world, freedom to be here, and unbeknown to you apparently, lack of belief is still a view on religion and many people still are interested in discussing religion...as well as some interested in learning about the beliefs of others.

You must be new here. This question is asked many times a day.
There's no point in creating an atheist section - that would be like creating a 'I don't play cards' section. We'll just keep hanging out here, thanks. Most of us used to be religious, but we learned better, and we're here to enlighten.

This is the atheist section. The Christian section is called "Mythology and Folklore"

As rational human beings it is our job to spread rationality and clear-headed thinking to those poor benighted people who lack the ability or have otherwise been led astray.
You know how your Christian Bible exhorts you go forth and spread The Word (proselytize)? That's what we're doing but instead of doing it because some fairy tale creature tells us to spread news of the fairy tale we do it out of the best self-interests of the human race.
Why, you don't like it? Does it weaken your faith in fairy tales? Do you find it annoying? Now you know how it feels to be proselytized to.

If you get us kicked out of here, I vote we call our own section, "Look! Christians can't take a joke!" Because all other religions seem fine with us here.
BTW, I'm an atheist with a religion. So you wouldn't get rid of me.

Why not just move most of this stuff into the Mythology and Folklore section where it belongs?
