I currently own a 2002 Ford Mustang and it is an automatic, Ford offers both Manual and Automatic V6 and GT versions of the Mustang. the only versions of the Mustang that come with Manual transmissions only are the Saleen, Cobra and SVT versions,

80% of cars on the road are automatic. Most people dont seem to want to put in that extra effort because they don't know what it means except that they cant drive and drink their coffee or talk on their cell phone at the same time. Manual cars, if driven right will give you a significant boost in fuel economy, are a couple thousand dollars cheaper in new and a couple hundred in used car value. You also would have better control of the car. I always drive manual if i have a choice.

I know this one. When Ford announced the introduction of the first production Mustangs in 1964, the U.S. congress quickly passed a law stating that no Mustangs were to be built with automatic transmissions. To do so, Ford would be in violation of federal law(a felony, in other words). Hence, no automatics on Mustangs, EVER!
