Why do some people give a thumbs down for answers that are based on historical and/or liturgical facts rather than just what has been taught or what is popular in R & S?

After going back and looking at other answer, I can see there really isn't any rhyme or reason to it. Sorry...I haven't been at this answers thing long, I guess I didn't realize trolls hung out here too! lol
P.S. That isn't meant to offend the folks with valid answers or reasons for a thumbs down...whatever they may be.

Hello,

Consider these things:

1) The truth hurts

2) Your answer may not be valid.

3) You can't teach old dogs new tricks

4) Harvesting 10 points so make some answers look bad to influence the asker's decision.
