This happens a lot, especially when the kitten is taken away from the mom a little too soon. She is trying to nurse. Best way to get her to stop is to dab a little vinegar or something bitter on your ear. She wont like the taste and will eventually stop.

hi Nicole: Kittens are born with a reliable instinct to suck so as that they are in a position to drink milk from their mom. some kittens have a extra suited instinct to suck so will mixture bread and attempt and suck on some thing that reminds them of their mom's abdomen. in addition they're going to do this in the event that they have been taken faraway from the mummy earlier 7 or 8 weeks of age. attempt and distract the kitten with a bowl of water or get it to play with a toy. good luck.

Your kitten is suckling you, there is nothing to worry about here. Your kitten was probably taken away from her mother too young and she is doing this for comfort.
Your baby loves you very much and you are doing a great job. She will stop when she is ready and if it doesn't bother you then leave her be.
Well done for looking after her so well.

well, it depends on if it annoys you. You can try putting the cat on your lap and pet her so she stays. When she sucks your ear you should pick her up look in her eyes and say 'No'. She may learn to stop.
I knew a cat that sucked on your ear. It was the sweetest thing. I didn't mind. I just let the cat be its own person. Thats how I go.

was kitty taken away from her mother at too early an age? if so, that could be it. i have a cat that was orphaned at less than 10 days,i had to bottle feed him. he used to suck on my earlobes a LOT! i mean as soon as he could have free reign of the house and was big enough to get up on the bed he would wake me up 2 or 3 times a night!! SLURP,SLURP,SLURP!!! drove me absolutely nuts-- treasure the fact that your kitty loves you and wants to show you her love in this way. she will stop when she is ready

She is nursing. You can break her of the habit by not letting her do it. Just stop her when she starts and tell her no in a loud voice. If she is like my old cat, she will do that until the day she dies. She loves you!

umm this might sound weird but your cat is still young and is probrobly still looking for its mother to feed off of! you ear could possibly be the closest thing the cat can find that feels the same as his mother!!!

it probably still has the habit of having its mom "feeding" it. so it uses your ear as a substitute.
