every time I lied, especially saying someone was sick, it came true. I don't do it anymore. If I don't want to work I just say I have personal issues.

you could say that your car stalled out and you have no way to get there. or you have the flu, or you could really lie and say that your mother is really sick with her diabetes and she cant be alone... or you could even say that you went out of town and your friend ditched you and you have no way back for the day...
