Ive been in group therapies for near 40 years. You get about as much out of the group as you put into it. Don't fall asleep and don't talk all the time, listen and learn. There are many different types of groups and the rules vary with the psychologist or social worker conducting the group. In general just be yourself and conduct yourself as you would in polite conversation. The matters discussed are usually confidential.
