Here is a sample meal plan that I stuck to. I had gestational diabetes and was forced to go on a diabetic diet.

Breakfast:
1/4 cup of cereal (wheat puff cereal was the lowest in carbs I found on the market)
1- 8oz glass of milk (I divided the milk: half for my cereal and the rest I drank)
2 TBLS of peanutbutter

Snack:
1 1/2 grahm crackers
2 TBLS peanutbutter
1- 8oz glass of milk

Lunch:
1 slice of bread
3 slices of lean turkey
1slice of cheese
10 carrots
unsweetened tea w/sweet n' low

Snack:
10 brocolli florettes w/ ranch dip
sugar free drink (any kind)

Dinner:
3 oz of lean red meat
1/4 cup of green beans
salad w/ 2 TBLS of dressing
unsweetened tea w/sweet n' low

Snack:
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (the no sugar added kind)

I also drank plenty of water, and walked A LOT! Stay active. I promise you, you will drop the weight. I lost 84 pounds! I used to be very thin until I had my first child. Then I gained so much weight until I was pregnant with my second child. I dropped the weight quickly and in a healthy way.

Look the many small meals thing is not what you're looking for. Are you trying to lose weight? Here's something you can do: Keep track of everything you eat in a week. Everything. Calories too. Also keep track of exactly what exercises you do no matter how small whether its walking to and from school or simply between classes. Write it all down. Note any weight gain. Your weight probably remained constant. Now find somewhere in your diet where you can remove anywhere from 300 to 500 of those calories per day, whether its drinking water instead of pop/soda, eating a smaller meal now and again, or even better...eating healthier overall. Now take the amount of exercise you do. Say you're in school and you walk every day. Well now keep walking all while increasing your exercise. Try and jog a mile or so a day when you get home. A 1 mile run will burn on average around 100 calories right there. Say you cut 300 calories out of your diet per day while expending 200 more calories exercising. That's 500 less than you had before. There are 3000 calories in one pound of fat. Do the math. Keeping a routine like this going will net you one pound of fat loss per week, which is the ADA gold standard for weight loss. You'll also be in better shape and look and feel better.

The Atkins Diet has a lot of snack and meal foods that are good. I was on the Atkins Diet for about one month and lost 12 pounds. It's hard at first, but I made it. It was that bad either since I purchased some of their products. Good luck to you

This is what I typically eat.....I try to stick to a 1450 calorie plan

B- 1/2 dry oats, 1 cup of skim milk
S- 6 egg whites with 2 slices fat free American cheese OR 1 cup ff cottage cheese
L- 7 ounces of chicken with 8 ounces of steamed brocolli, apple
S- lite n' fit yogurt with lite cheese string or 1 ounce of almonds and lite cheese string Or soy chips
D- 7-8 ounces of salmon with 5 oz of string beans and 5 oz asparagus
S- sugar free pudding...

My meal plans looks like this with slight moderations but you get the idea....and I work out and have been successful with weight loss

Add in foods that you like, if you don't like steamed veggies then stir fry them with a bit of oil, add a baked sweet potato in but watch the portion size....remember don't go overdo your calorie allowance....
