I can't help but see similarities between Hitler and God. Lets think about this for a second. Hitler gave benefits to those who followed him without question. God gives benefits to those who believe in him without question. Hitler punished those of different religions besides christianity. God sends non-believers to hell (supposedly). God seems a little bit selfish to me? Maybe god should change his ways. People who don't believe aren't bad people. Niether were the jews, but oh wait, hitler tried to kill them all. Hmm

The only difference between God and Hitler is that God is more proficient at genocide.

Besides, what did Hitler ever do? Kill a few million Jews? Then Jesus turned around and sent them all to hell for eternity.

God And Hitler

Well lets see.........Yes God does bless his children, BUT, if one would take the time to really think......God also has blessed non Christians, Just think about a report over the news, People were amazingly kept from assured death weather it be from car accidents, plane crashes, take your pick. When Jesus walked this earth he healed non christian people you may differ but he had not died yet so no one was born again......As far as God sending someone to hell is way off. God has given man a free will to decide where they will spend eternity. If God was so selfish why did he provide a way for man to have restored fellowship with him. Why did he give up his son Jesus to die, do you think it pleased God to see his son bleeding like siv, and to hear him gasp for breath, To see him wither in pain? No I don't think so. Would a majority of people do that? Would Hitler do that? And lets see..... long before Jesus came he provided a way for man to be covered when they rejected him and chose to eat the fruit. So it seems to me God and Hitler have nothing in common. Hitler thought he was a God, But where is he now?

Wow, on a previous name i asked several questions JUST like this, comparing god to Hitler, and even going so far as to say "I'm sure if God really had a son, it was Hitler, not your Christ". "All those who turn against me will burn" Either in Hell, or a furnace. Same premise. I got flamed BIG time for my questions, though. Keep up the good atheism.

You're really setting yourself up with this one.

P.S. Hitler is a very real source of pain, horror and disgust for many people.
God is a very real source of comfort and rejoice for many people.
You'd be well advised not to compare the two without being willing to endure a lot of anger directed at you.

Although I will grant you, there has and probably always will be a lot of killing in the name of God.

Comparing God to Hitler is like comparing Good to Evil, or the universe to a small piece of mouldy cheese.
The misunderstanding here is a common one, people don't go to hell for being unbelievers, they go to hell for their sins, their unrighteousness, their wickedness for theft, murder, rape, hatred etc. These qualities have no place in God's perfect heaven and there is no other place to go except Hell. I guess God is an all or nothing God. Those who get to heaven are those whose sins: theft, hate, blasphemy etc. have been forgiven by 'believing' in Jesus but the word 'believing' has been misinterpreted it means putting your complete trust in, totally relying on Jesus as the one who can and did take your sins away by nailing them to a cross. He became sin for us. But that divine transaction of Jesus taking your sins away does not take place until and only until you admit your sin and then fully, fully rely on Him for your salvation thereby verbally announcing Jesus as your Saviour and Lord.
That's the Gospel, that is the Good News.
Accept it or Reject it.

This is a pathetic attempt to draw a substantial comparison. I began to prepare a point by point response to debunk it, but it didn't have the intellectual integrity to merit such an effort. This argument is severely fraught with problems.

It terms of body count and sheer misery inflicted on people, Hitler was quite effective. But he couldn't hold a candle to the Big "G".

You find that even the world's best doctors fail to cure a dying king. You might have also heard of many instances where patients ailing from the worst type of diseases are cured miraculously where even the ablest doctors have declared the cases hopeless. This itself is a clear proof that there is the divine hand behind all cures.

And He's not Hitler.

The biggest difference I see is that Hitler existed, and God is fiction.
