to wonder this? Anyone out there with visible color tattoos please answer! Also, is it pretty easy to get a tattoo darkened (example- go from blue to black) without the color looking too heavy? Thanks ahead of time!

i don't associate color tattoos with being "punk". what you get determines more the vibe than the color. i have all color tattoos and i am definitely not considered "punk" i'm just a normal chick. i dress in a variety of styles none of which are punk.
i had a black tattoo once, but i ended up getting it covered up and now tend to be drawn toward color tattoos.

Oh yeah you can always darken. I love my bright colored tattoos and I don't think my style is punk at all. I actually dress quite preppy then people see my tats and it always results in some funny looks, but I enjoy seeing that reaction as well : ) I think they are just prettier with a lot of color, but respect people who like just black work also. You will get judged for having a tat anyway, so don't let someone thinking your punk effect your decision.

I have 31 tattoos and all but 3 are full-color. They can sometimes be identified with punk culture, as tattoos are an important part of the history of punk music.
Having said that, I'm not at all punk. And yep, color tats can always be filled in with black--although color can be so fun, I don't know why you would want to!

my boyfriend has two color tattos on his arm and i dont think they look punk at all..it all depends on what you get. and yes you can get a tatto darkened. and if you have a color tattoo it would be a good idea to get the color touched up once in a while

no, the color doesn't make the tattoo punk, the style does. I have two colorful tattoos on my right shoulder/arm, flowers, not punk at all
maybe one is slightly, but I love it!

My tattoo is all color and it is super cute. Every girl and even guys that I meet are always staring at me because I forget I even have a tattoo. I got a little flower on the inside upper ear cartilage. All the girls say they want to get one like it after they see mine! I don't like dark tattoos personally because they are much more difficult to remove if you should ever change your mind about it.

All mine are black and I started out with the intention that if I decided to colour them in a could later on... I think colour is hot though, look for pictures of Anna Matronic from the Scissor Sisters... Her upper arm is amazing.

I have two very colorful tats, and they don't look "punk" at all. Once again, it depends on the style of that tat, not the color.

You are definitely not the only black girl who is into the whole tattoo & punk/ metal rock scene. But you are definitely in a small minority.

I think color looks alot better. I went back and got two of my tatts colored in and they looks so much better.
