Last night I went to take a picture or two, I got three pictures in and then the pictures would only show up halfway, like the shutter wasn't opening completely. I turned it off and when i went to turn it back on and nothing, not even the dead battery symbol.

Any idea?

Okay, so i got the camera working again however when ever i shoot with my camera, when the image comes up, there seems to be something interfering with image, and half the image is black.

What should i do?

ok the bad news is your shutter is broken. the good news canon will fix it for $220 and 10 day turna around. we just had this happen this spring to our rebel. it comes back with a warranty andf they clean it up real good.

Did you charge the battery? They do weird things even with a low battery. Depending on the age, maybe the battery is at the end of it's life?

If it isn't a battery problem then its time for a visit to the repair center. Sure hope its under warranty.
