Oh yes, it's funny to see the kindergarden Mom's getting all teary and your jumping up and down clapping your hands as the school bus pulls away!

*sigh*... I am probably in the minority here. I'm a mom who is actually dreading the first day of school. My daughter is starting kindergarten, it's going to be whole new world for the both of us, lol. She's going to do great, I know... she's sociable, intelligent... it's ME who has the trouble. She was born with a cleft lip/palate, has had 7 surgeries so far... is doing great with speech therapy... but I can't help but worry about other kids interacting with her when I am not around.
My son had a rough year last year in the second grade, had a teacher that was unbearable not only to the kids but to the parents. I hope that this year is a better one. :)

I homeschool and I still am doing cartwheels. I love being back on a schedule where they expect to get up at a certain time, do school work, chores...THEN the TV and games. The best part about fall, to be sure.

My daughter has been stuck at the office a few hours a day with me for the whole summer. I really enjoy being with her, but it will be nice not to come up with ways to entertain her. We tried to make good use of the time she was here and she learned more about computers than any 9 year old has a right to know ( I work in a computer repair shop).
So in answer to your question, yes I'm looking forward to school starting, she's getting very antsy.

i am very happy since I have 3 kids under the age of 5. One will be in all day first grade, and the middle will be in half day head start. that will allow me a little time in the mornings just me and the baby. Wow will things be less hecktic. I will be able to shower before 2 pm. LOL!

No. Not at all. I actually enjoy my kids and have so much fun with them over the summer. The first day of school is tough on me. On the other hand, I am looking foward to the new adventures and things they will learn. So I guess it's not really but kind of. LOL

Yes and no. I have run out of summer activities so when they go back now they will be occupied. I'm also buying a new house so it will help that I can pack in peace. But, honestly I miss them so much during the school year!! I cry everyday on the first day of school and my oldest is in fourth grade!!

I'm on the fence about this one. With school comes alot more responsibility and headaches. Getting them out the door in the morning on time and dealing with homework can make a parent nutso. At least in the summer, you dont have to worry about those things too much.

lol, actually yes and no. Yes, because our youngest is going to be in kindergarden this year full time (all day, 5 days a week) so all 4 kids are going to be gone all day! And no, because we have to go back to a schedule and homework and all that fun stuff. But overall yes I'm excited. I NEED a day of quiet.

No, as my daughter is two. I'd be doing cartwheels if I could afford to take her somewhere for a day and have a day just to myself. LOL!
