What is the reasoning or basis to the idea that it is okay for christians to use violence to bring someone to Jesus? You can say that it isn't done but it is. I was a victim of it years ago and it still goes on. Please help me understand the people who did this to me and what they connected to in your religion that would make them think that this is a good thing to do.

Sometimes, I think that people go to the extremes to try to persuade another to do something that they know is for good reasons, but they sometimes get frustrated when they have such a strong belief in something and they want so much for others to believe as they do. This happened to me actually with my brother-in-law...who grabbed my arm and said, "don't you get it? If you keep living the way you're living...you will be doomed for all eternity!!" I really did take it personally at first, but being a christian..now I know why he did what he did, and said what he said.. There is no reason for physical pain to be inflicted to make someone come to Christ, but it can be frustrating when you are saved and everyone around you is not! I think that some christians express their frustrations in the wrong way. We as christians just have to keep in vigil prayer for those in our lives who are unsaved, that they can somehow come to the foot of the cross and be born again!! I hope this helps!!
Love in Christ (:

Just because a person or group claims to be Christian, doesn't mean they are. Plus, Christians are perfectly capable of doing bad things just like everyone else (although hopefully less so.) Much evil is perpetrated under the guise of religion.

Ummm excuse me but every other religion or sect has done violence as well, Pagans, Agnostics, witches..it's not solely Christian so stop acting like the others aren't at fault either. The most horrible cruelties have come from pagan sects, human sacrifices, baby slaying, mass murders, I could go on and on. You're going to have to blame everyone not just us. The whole human race has a dark and dreaded back ground, not just Christian's.

I am not trying to avoid the question; but the comments are very vague. Quick ruleof thumb; answer who, what, when, where, why, how.

I don't know any Christians that do what you said. I don't do it either.
