Cat food has a lot of sugar in it usually. Dogs have a hard time breaking down sugar, but most of them love the taste. Dont let your dog eat the cat's food. We keep the cat food up on a table where the dog's cant reach it.

Interestingly enough my cat prefers my dog's food. But, my dog doesn't really care for the cat food. I've had dogs in the past that would pass their own meals up for the cat food. That said, I've heard that cat food isn't good for dogs. So, you may consider feeding your cats in an alternative location to which the dog cannot gain access.

A lot of dogs do prefer cat food over dog food. I wouldn't feed the dog cat food, because dog food has specific things that dogs need in it, so I would just stick with dog food. Same with cat food.

I think because cat food are actually tastier (no I haven't tasted any) based on the contents. They are almost purely meat of some sort while dog food have corn or some sort of carbohydrates in them. But dogs don't need high protein in their diet and cat food may contain some seafood that may not be good for dogs.

lol.... Well why they like it I cant tell you but I understand how strange it is to see that happen. My cats even eat the dog food and my dog eats the cat food. Its weird. It actually might be that the food may taste better to each of them due to their taste buds. Cats have a rough tongue and well dogs have it a little more softer.
Hope that helped
Dont freak out about it though
most food has nutrients in it

DEFINITLY do not let your dog eat the cat food!! even if your dog likes it the cat food is lacking in nutrients that the dog food contains! Your dog could possibly like the cat food more because it smells different!!

I dont know if its a problem to feed a dog cat food but just to be on the safe side I would start feeding it dog food again, unless it point blank refuses to eat that.
Or you could ask your vet if cat food is an acceptable alternative.

Most dogs do but dont let them have any! It causes liver damage in dogs. Dogs want anything thats not their normal diet. They like change and like us, get tired of the same old thing all of the time. Plus dogs seem to like smelly stuff and cat food smells great to them.

Dogs like cat food because it usually contains more oils and fats like Salmon and fish parts which are not good for dogs. It makes their stool watery and makes their coat oily.
