When deporting an Illegal Alien, should they be given the choice of going home or joining the Army for 5 years?

no they shouldnt because when you join the US army, your supporting the US and risking your life for the country. but if you're an illegal alien and you just like waltzed on over and broke the law, you shouldnt serve your country...

Well, this is an interesting question. If they are illegal, they should be deported, but if they are desperate, and working while they are here, they will just come back, and find another job.
If you put them in the Army, they'll have a job. Then what? They give their life for another country, and if they die, then the US has to give their family money forever, and if they live, do we then deport them back to their country after they serve their time? And, what if they want to reinlist? Would they then be allowed to continue to live in the US, or their representative military bases in other countries?
It is a tough question, huh?

No. At one time judges would tell a young man go to jail or join the army. Most joined the army. I think it was in the 70's when that was a question they asked you joined. The army had stopped taking those volunteers. The army did not want them. They don't even want high school drop outs. What makes you think that the army want illegals who may or may not speak English. I can see a drill sergeant saying push one for English two for.......... LOL

No, don't give them an option or else more illegals will start coming into the U.S.
Also, can you imagine if we did give them the option of joining the army, ACLU and other pro illegal organizations will make the army leaders learn Spanish (or whatever language) to accommodate these illegals. We may also have to let Muslim illegals pray during a battle because they have specific times they "must" pray. No way! Deport them!

Depends on whether they were a crimminal (in addition to being illegal):
If they had so much as Jay Walked they should be shot out of a cannon back into whatever hole they swarmed up here out of.
If they hadn't committed a crime and were physically and mentally fit and spoke and wrote English. Then after serving 5 years honorably. I'd support them being eligible.
Other than that or that 2 year college boondoggle that Senator Dianne Scatstain is supporting I'd say:
"No way Jose"

What makes you think the army wants illegal aliens? What makes you think the more than 2,000,000 Americans and Permanent Residents now serving on active duty, the reserves and national guard want illegal aliens serving with them?
To answer your question, no, they should not serve in the army. They should be deported.

No, I don't think they should be given that choice. Our Army is not a punishment and should not be used as one. The appropriate action for illegal entry, in my opinion, is jail time and/or deportation.

my friend was given that option. he joined the Marine Corp and later joined the Army. The Army has a program to teach recruits English. they are not allowed to leave until they are at least able to speak English proficiently.
Also it would help since the military is thin right now
