No. But the posterior chamber doesn't hold the lens.

The natural lens capsule that holds your natural lens is used to hold the implant after the natural, cloudy lens (a cataract is a cloudy lens) is removed. I would think that if the capsule was strong enough to hold your natural lens, it will be strong enough to hold the implant.
