Do I have to just forget about it, because she works there -- or is there anything I can do to see if she's interested too?

She acts friendly but maybe she is just a friendly person.

Ask her out while she's working? Just like that? Hmm, if she's uninterested, I'll probably feel guilty about bothering her while she's sort of required to be friendly.

Yes, I am the customer. I don't know if she treats me differently from other guys but you gave me an idea to ignore her and see if she pays attention to me. In the past, it's been I guess about 50/50.

Are you sure that it is common for a girl to be asked out while working? Everyone here seems to think it's normal. Does this mean she might think I'm uninterested if I don't?

sillygirl, she has been telling me what days she won't be there, and what time she came in. She might volunteer what time she gets off, if she knows herself. I might not need to ask. But what good will knowing that do?

You better go there and talk to her...Not like, do you wanna go out? No! Just make small talks at first, ask her when does her shift ends? is she seeing anyone...can she recommend a good movie/ theater...
You know better than me...Try to know her before asking her out or asking for her number and stuff...
Waitress or not, it is not a big deal! Jennifer Garner was a waitress...Look at her now!
I just hate for you to sit there and wonder what if...Also, if she likes you, she can't possibly tell you because she might get fire for coming on to a customer! If you talk to her, it is different, she'll have a good man + a job!!!
Good luck! Please, don't let that girl go....

are we talking about you the customer, and she the waitress waiting on you ?

if we are, its almost always her just doing her job. she sees you as just one more horny jerk who thinks she likes him and has the right to maul her while she is trying to do her job.
she gets asked out a 100 times a day. she is numb.

if she treats you different then the other guys, then yes, give it a try.
make the date a place where she can sit for a few hours.
