I used to think it is a big NO NO as most other people until I read the news from MSNBC a couple days ago.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20249460/

There is a Drinking Law chart shows that all states ban for selling alcohol to people under 21, but the consume of alcohol is a different rule.

For New Jersey, it is "Under 21 may consume alcohol in parents’ or guardian’s residence if parent or guardian is home."

NJ Law makes it illegal to drink alcohol if you are under 21 years of age. To find out why the age is 21, find out at www.cspinet.org/booze/mlpafact.htm or www.madd.org/stats/0,1056,4847,00.html
