Children believe in things because they don't know any better......adults need to believe in things because they can't accept the fact that 'this is it'.
When you know this is what there is to live for, people put all their effort into making it the best they can. When people think that this is 'just another stage in life' then why try so hard?

Children are more spiritual because they are more open minded and receptive. It is not until later that they lose those unique qualities.
