I just joined gym to lose some fats I've been accumulating around my waist. So I asked one of the trainers there about some exercises which will help reduce these excessive fats and she just muttered something like, "change your diet for that," and left. I didn't bother asking her anything else. Aren't there any exercise which will help me get rid of this flab? Please help!

Ok first I would consider a different gym with more personable staff! Try cutting your carbs, or at least quit eating refined foods like your whites, flour, sugar, etc. Eat 5-6 small meals a day, lean meats, whole foods, and veggies. I lift weights to increase my muscle mass burning more calories. I also do cardio like brisk walking. All this combined keeps my waist trim. Good luck to you!

BEST ANSWER lose the gym and save some money unless you just like the atmosphere try jogging distance start with one mile and work your way up listen to your ipod it will be hard at first for about a week then it will be fun and routine dont run in the gym on a treadmill if you do you need to run twice the distance. also try just sit ups pushups and go on a bike ride every now and then. Trust me the gym is not worth it and soon enough you will find your self not going.
GOOD LUCK

Before answering, I'd like to say chicks with curves rule.
I've been trying to lose a beer gut and exercises that really work out my abs have seen best results. I was running a lot for a long time but it wasn't until I started doing ab work in the gym that I really saw the results i wanted. It may be personal, but a small amount of ab work each day in joint with my running has seen some great results.

Changing your diet will help, but not all the way. Depending on exactly where you want to lose, you can try lower abdominal crunches (lay on the floor, legs together creating a 90% aangle and lift your bottom off the floor). Then you can try squats and lunges for you hip/upper thigh area. Also try stretching. Stretching wont help you lose the flab, but will help to lengthen the muscles that you have in that area, which will create a leaner look. Hope this helps!

both are important equally for lasting results.
your diet is 80% of your health
10% to exercise, and 10% genes.
why excercise is important is it creates a healthy environment for your body and it starts your metabolism and keeps it going.
it also gives you a way to relieve stress
really what these numbers tell you is that a healthy diet is important and exercise helps and your genes can be out numbered by exercise and diet. so do some form of exercise daily, eat right and you will maybe never be perfect but you will be healthy.

why is she still a trainer there? you should report her, its her job. you could do sit ups and of course she was right. there is no way to spot reduce just one area of your body. you just have to work everything out. maybe boxing and when you punch from side to side twist as mch as you can without hurting yourself.
