I was wanting to visit Australia one day but I'm a smoker I couldn't go 24 hours on a plane. Also I think it would be pretty fun to take a boat but I have no idea if this is possible. If anyone knows about this please tell me. Thank you :)

G'day :)

I think it was 13 hours from LAX, CA to Sydney. In 99 I flew from Dallas to Japan which was even less time, and then to Sydney which was even less again. All kinds of places you can stop over for your break. You can get a flight out of LAX at almost midnight, and that way you'll be asleep for most of the journey. If the flight is a bit frightening as a prospect, go see your doctor and he may suggest a relaxant/anti anxiety med. I looked into sailing, you end up on a freighter, it takes AGES, you get sick as can be, and it's really horrid accomodation. Good luck, I hope you work out a way, it's a lovely place to visit. :)

24 hours??? Where are you coming from, The arctic circle.

Its only 14 hours mate from the west coast, and the most maybe 19 hours from the east coast. But yeah you can go by boat, I reckon I would be a smoker too by the time I got here by boat....

Some freighters have limited passenger accomodations or you could try a working trip. No idea where to look though.

You need to get into the Jet age. Theres no commercial flight in the world which is 24 hours in duration.
