I need lots of implants done and the cost is thousands. Do you think travelling overseas to Budapest to have it done much cheaper is a good idea.

I think traveling anywhere to find cheaper medical care is a great idea, as long as the quality of the care is thoroughly researched and deemed to be safe. Keep us posted if you find a good place!

I think that you should compare the cost of traveling to Budapest versus staying here and getting the work done. Would it really be cheaper in Budapest? What happens if you need follow up care? What if you end up at a hack dentist? I'd do a ton of research if I were you.

Why are there so many people scared of surgery abroad. The only reason it is cheaper is because the other countries have a lower economy than us.The surgeons are all highly qualified and experienced and the clinics are spotless.I am going to lithuania next year for a £3000 savings on my desired treatment.i have researched the clinics and surgeons and am quite satisfied i am in safe hands.Go to a reputable practitioner who has a history of excellence and you will as you say save thousands.Treatment in the UK is one of,if not the highest in Europe.I say go ahead and get what you want and enjoy your new nashers.I've heard Budapest is one of the best destinations for dental surgery.

Not really- if it goes horribly wrong then you're a bit stuffed, you'll have to pay for a second dentist to put right the problem. But if you do go, I really hope it all goes well for you and that you'll have no problems. Is it really necessary to have implants? They are expensive and time consumming, maybe a bridge or dentures are a better option financially- do be aware that dentists will suggest implants as an option because they make loads of money from them....

Considering the time off for travel, the cost of travel and hotel, the language barrier, your unfamiliarity with medical practices in that part of the world, any number of unforeseen problems, etc.
Talk with your dentist or whoever is doing the implants, about a payment schedule!

A lot of retired people in the USA go to Mexico. If you do so do it in a large tourist city(better dentists). My dentist in Idaho said he could actually recommend some good dentists in Mexico. Try to find one that is recommended-just for safety purposes.

I wouldnt do it....the medical training received compared to dentists in US is alot and your treatment would be sub-par...that is a big reason why many folks who are docs in their own country cant be one here unless they take a bunch of tests and go back to school for a bit longer....I have a friend who is a dentist in Mexico..but due to his lack of training compared to my dentist I wouldnt let him work on me...and here he's a painter...:/ Also you could end up with some big complications that may end up costing you more to fix than if you just did it here in the states
