How many Mormon scouts are there in the US?

Not all boy and girl scouts are Mormon or do you want to know how many are Mormon?

I live in Utah so I know there are more here then there was in California. I think it would be proportionate to the area.

In our Church we have the Young Men and the Young Women. The Young Men have their leader who is also Boy Scouts Master and we have a scout activity every week. As far as I can tell most every Young Man is active in Scouts.

This number is not quantifiable. The LDS Stakes sponsor their own unit(s). In some (rural) communities, this is the only unit available, and not all members are members of the Stake. There are also some areas where LDS boys are members of units not sponsored by a Stake. BSA does not keep track of the religous affiliation of its members, however you might get a count of the members of units that are sponsored by LDS Stakes.

If you had to have a number, across the USA, I would estimate the LDS contingent of all BSA units would be 15-18% of all registered members. This number will vary in specific areas, but generally speaking, this is a good guesstimate.

The LDS program does not support the GSUSA, and they do not sponsor GS Troops. A girl who is LDS may be a member of a GS troop, but GSUSA does not track religous affiliations of its members.

I couldn't find any numbers on lds.org or scouting.org about number of scouts from any religion. I did find the total numbers of scouts for 2005.
