I think guys are more obvious, but I think women tend to have this natural "gift" on how to secretly check out guys without the guys even knowing.

Women are trying to be subtle when checking out guys, and since guys aren't very keen at pick up things in the first place it is generally easy for girls to do.
Men on the other hand intend for the girl to see them checking them out. The reason for this is because guys don't like to waste time.
(You'll notice this when you tell a long story to a guy his attention starts to fade. Men talk less than women because they feel the emotional part of a conversation is unnecessary and just tell the facts)
Men want to skip the discreet part so they can just get to the meeting and pursuing part. It doesn't make sense to be discreet to us, either she thinks I'm attractive or not. If she does lets meet and see how we flow. If not lets move on or try and get her to think my personality is attractive.

I think most women expect us males look long and hard when we don't they Do think something is wrong with us ( you know sour grapes anyway). Besides it gives them a chance to talk to you which is sometimes what they wanted in the first place. I try never to miss a chance to see a good looking woman ( don't stare much un less she came right out of play boy, know what I mean? The LADIES have their way but if you know what to look for read the signs you can pick up on it.

women generally have better peripheral vision than men. men are more inclined to have tunnel vision dating back to the time when they were hunters and the women eyes allow a wide arc of vision to monitor her young. even car insurance stats show that most car accidents of women drivers were front or back while men have side collisions again because of the wider versus narrower vision. thats why a women is less obvious when she scans a room as it's natural to her yet a man will have to make a conscious effort therefore making it more obvious.

Social conditioning, shoot I'm a male and I'm so good at it people think I'm gay. But I digress, really it comes down to the fact that you don't have to oogle to see it. A quick glance can tell you everything a long stare can. But us males are sort of expected to stare when we see something we like, and who whats to argue with that? While woman are not expected to sit there oogling at a man. So really its just a matter of not, over emphasising the obvious.....

We look at them in the corner of our eyes and look directly at them when they look away and i get this feeling that hes about to turn his head so i quickly go back to looking at them throught corner of my eyes til they look away. its hilarious!! ive only been caught about twice out of like a million!!
