It has nothing to do with the Devil. It's special because it's an especially good ONE SENTENCE encapsulation of the faith. Useful, when a complete teaching of the Gospel is impractical.

Also, it's special because it's believe to be the most widely translated read Sentence in human history. It's been translated into virtually all known languages. The complete Bible has not been yet.

John 3:16 is a line from the book of John, Chapter 3 verse 16. It is about how Jesus saves. It says
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

This is from the New International Version of the Bible.

John 3:16...for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is the essential promise of God through Jesus Christ...that if you choose to believe in his promises, your life will not end when your physical (earthly) body dies...that you will continue to exist beyond the existence you know now.

I know many people that choose to believe that human beings cease to exist when they die...that the 70 or so years that the average person lives is all there is. Personally, I don't understand why someone would choose to believe that in the absence of absolute proof to the contrary (and that proof simply doesn't exist). It comes down to a choice and for me at least, I'm much happier and content living with the knowledge that my life has a meaning and purpose beyond the time allotted to me on earth.

If you are referring to John 3:16, it means that Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world so that all mankind could have life everlasting.
