I can understand why some may turn to paganism. Paganistic beliefs predate all other religious beliefs in this world. If they were around before monotheism, it is not a stretch to "assume" they could possibly be more pure and untainted ideals than that of monotheism. You can also see the polytheistic evidence all throughout Christianity/Islam/Judaism. Pagans are just being honest about it.

pagans come in many varieties, but many pagans are kind, helpful, and caring individuals who wish for the greater good of all. some of us may be a bit more interested in ourselves than others, but even then we don't go around telling other people they are wrong just because their religion differs from our own. Part of that is probably because there are so many different points of view within the pagan community and acceptance is of primary importance because of that. non-judgmental people are good candidates to become pagans.

I agree that the pagans that I have "met" here have been generally much nicer than most of the atheists or Christians. I don't recall any pagans being mean and nasty. You have to give them credit for that. Plus, a few sent me notes that really impressed me. As a Christian, I believe they are mistaken in their beliefs about God, but I respect them as a group very much more than most other groups here in R&S.

Thank you, Emperor. (You now have a secured a lifetime of Little Debbie snack cakes, hehe!)
On the whole, we are pretty tolerant, non judgmental, and don't get bogged down in dogma/details. We love and respect all living things and see the connection between us all, as well as with nature. We don't require intermediaries to communicate with the divine. And to be quite honest, I don't get offended when picked on. It's just one of those things... I think we tend to be very firm in our beliefs, so there is no need to defend or be offended.
Many blessings to you, sugar....

I admire the way they live good lives without a threat of punishment from a vengeful god; the way they respect the world around them; the sense of community they share with other Pagans of different denominations (Traditions); and the way they party (Party like Baccus is watching!!)

Since God created nature and all that's in it, I respect anyone who respects nature.
Pagans always worship and celebrate things God created like the sun, moon, stars, seasons, plants, animals, foods, herbs.
I think the idea of Solstace and Equinox celebrations are also kind of cool.

I think its somewhat admirable that they are willing to practice their religion of choice, despite the fact that their families and neighbors may ostracize them for it. Since most pagans weren't born into pagan families, that means that these are people who are willing to actually think for themselves and seek out truths rather than just accept what people want to spoon feed them.
There are too many people in the world that are willing to believe everything their families and churches tell them without bothering to seek out truth for themselves.

i am openly pagan, so i think i can sit back and admire myself for a minute or two. lol. on a serious note, i do respect others of a similar faith as I, because of their courage, respect, their wisdom, and all their ways that i admire and try to follow myself.

They're generally less anti-Christian than most of the atheists on here, at least from what I've seen...

It takes courage, imagination and faith for a person to think outside the box.
I admire all three.
