It was the Hebrews, not Jews. They did not have butter. They had to work with what they had.

You must not have had good matzoh. Try egg matzoh--which, strictly speaking, is only supposed to be eaten by the elderly and infirm during passover--but I find even plain matzoh to be delicious. Also--adding butter would have made it dairy instead of parve, hard to eat with meat--on the other hand, those laws hadn't been given yet.

Besides, hard to keep butter in the desert. It melts. Ritz crackers are delicious but way too fattening for you, and all that salt makes you thirsty.

See the link below for a comparative taste test. I also recommend matzoh made out of spelt instead of wheat--its really good!

particular, a blended multitude left Egypt, yet all who witnessed Revelation a jiffy later at Mt. Sinai grew to become Israelites. It become the Roman Catholic Church that created the parable of a separate Jewish "race" by ability of denying Jewish converts to Catholicism a place interior the Church's hierarchy -- in spite of if the relationship were in previous generations. It become Hitler who took the parable to that is zenith with the advent of his eugenics application of a German super race. .

have you ever had a matzoh brie?

yummy....mix em up with eggs and milk, scramble it all, and if you put syrup on top it tastes like french toast, or salt and pepper it, add a little cheese, and you've got an omlettey taste.

definitely matzoh

Because Chinese food hadnt become the central dietary focus of our culture yet.

If the Jews were to leave Egypt today they would be well equiped with rice, sweet and sour chicken, Moo shu pork, ....well maybe not the pork.

What makes you think they had butter? I mean, walking in the desert doesn't give you enough time to churn that milk!

They couldn't make Minute Rice because it needs boiling water. They were "The Children of Israel" and we all know children shouldn't play with matches
