Wouldn't it be nice to have just one day where religion was not such a big deal? Where we didn't have a headline about some new law the fundies are trying to pass or book they want to ban or school board that has been overrun or even just the normal stuff you constantly hear about religion? Where people just backed off for a while?

I know, I cause my own exposure by coming to this site, but I'd like just one single day where I didn't have to hear about religion. What do you think?

What do I think?

I think you're a fool.

Go stand in the rain, and complain that it's wet.

Turn off your computer and TV, and read a book, and you probably won't hear a word about religion.

And then get out of the rain.

Religion is the root of some much turmoil, ignorance, and hatred in this world. You should also be sick of people blowing themselves and crowds of innocent people up in the name of religion also.

I do agree with you, though; especially about trying to ban books and such - like the lady here in Georgia that wanted the Harry Potter books off the school shelves. Ridiculous.

Ironic because I've more than had enough of hearing about the rampant drug use of teenagers, the quick-as-lightening spread of std's, the violence kids are exposed to so much that they become immune to it, by shooting each other, or killing animals for fun!

seriously.

there are many more IMPORTANT issues such as poverty, disease, crime, and war that need to be addressed.

we preoccupy ourselves with religious discussions because in our minds, we win the argument every time. people really should branch out.

i was thinking that if the churches wanted to expand their congregations, they'd drop all of this nonsense about abortion, homosexuality, and all that crap, and focus on poverty and inclusiveness, and education. more people might listen.

I agree. Religion was created by man to control the masses. "Religion should stay out of politics or be taxed." quoted from the bumper sticker on my truck.

I think that day will never come. The best thing to do is just laugh it off. Read the news like you read say, an accident, a plane crash, earthquake, murder etc.

You're right maybe we should ban religion like in China or North Korea. We would be happy just like them... not.
