Ahhh....you must be very careful how you word things my friend....
I do not support the act of homosexuality..however I am going to accept and love Gay people because we are commanded to love everyone...God considers the act a sin, but so is lying, and getting drunk and many other things..homosexuality is not sin that is worse than any other sin... Check out 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (some versions will say homosexuality some will say effeminate)
There can be Gay Christians, because well we are saved not perfect and only God knows their heart...same as only he knows our hearts..So I do not believe it is about supporting the act or even the sin being committed..that is something God will deal with and help/heal/convict someone of..but as believers we should love and accept the person who is sinning..because we have all sinned, and we all continue to sin...even though we try not to.

I don't call myself a Christian, but I'm gonna answer your question anyway. It's not really a question, is it? It is a rant and a chat that puts down other Christians who don't believe the same way that you do. You are putting down people of your own faith because of your own interpretation of Bible law. Your interpretation is hogwash. You yourself say that the NT repealed various ceremonial Jewish laws, but it did not repeal all of them. For example, the pork one is still on the books... Why do you get to choose what laws are civil and which laws are moral? I'll tell you why. You are interpreting the Bible for yourself and for your own selfish reasons. Other people do the same thing, but I guess they'd better not do it while you're around to correct them. You may believe what you like, but other people believe differently and have just as much right as you do to believe their own interpretations of Bible law. So, I advise you to get over it. You'll never get it right no matter what you do or say. I find it interesting how Christians get more upset over what other Christians do than anything else. Instead of whining about other people, get out there and do something to help humankind. Your religion has a lot to say about that, too. Auntie Kookoo

So-called believers that support homosexuality are sinners against God and are not Christians. The Bible makes it very clear that God hates sin. Homosexuality is a sin and God hates it.

Why do murderers claim to be Christians when murder is clearly a sin? Why do married Christian couples have sex for pleasure when the Bible states that sex should only be had for purposes of reproduction? And why do you care what other people do? Plenty of things are considered "sins" by the men who wrote the Bible (notice I said "men" wrote it, not God), and plenty of things we would never dream of doing to fellow humans are condoned by the Bible. It's not a perfect book and neither are people. Deal with it and stop judging other people.

Because it is bigotry, religiously rationalized.
This might come as a shock to you, but quite a few books in the Bible are nothing more than collections of letters from one person to another: Such as Romans: Letters of Paul going on and on about how he thinks a church should be run. Letters that are more about the culture of the time than God's Words.

If those churches don't try and help them overcome then that is totally wrong because the Bible clearly states that "those that will be saved will be overcomers". Overcomers of what? Ourselves. "The church is not a museum for saints, it is a hospital for sinners". Now that homosexuality is so widely accepted I expect our nation to fail as God will no longer bless us. You think it cannot happen to us? It can. Mmm

A lot of the old-line World Council of Churches Protestant Churches have been losing members steadily for decades. The endorsement of homosexual acts by the Lutherans, Episcopalians, Etc.. is a rather crass attempt to stop the bleeding. It will fail.
Take heart and May God Bless You.

I never heard of any Christians, let alone pastors, saying homosexuality is all right.
On the other hand, Jesus Himself specifically told us not to condemn others for their sin unless we ourselves are sinless, which I'm not!

Tell me where in scripture it instructs us to pick out one sin and publicly ridicule and condemn all those who struggle with it. There is a huge difference between supporting something and refusing to be a part of a mob mentality.

I definitely prefer liberal Christianity to the fundamental variety, but it you're right when you say they have it all wrong. It's better to be compassionate like the liberal Christians are, but I don't understand why they choose to believe in *any* part of a book when so much of it is as barbaric and flawed as you point out. It just seems weak of them to keep towing that line when fundamentally it is so against what they personally believe in.
