Disbelief is a reaction--"she looked at him in utter disbelief"
Unbelief is a refusal to believe something.
Nonbelief is not having a belief in something.
They are kind of interchangeable but have slight differences in meaning.

Disbelief implies actively not believing in something that never was believed in by the person.
Unbelief implies now not believing in something that a person once believed in.
Nonbelief implies that someone does not believe out of unfamiliararity.
Belief in religion means you believe what others tell you in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

Similarly, is anyone ever "a sung hero", "gruntled", ruly or peccable?

Disbelief - doubt about the truth of something
Unbelief - rejection of belief
Non belief - simply not believing at all.

Disbelief is shocking disagreement without understanding of the reasoning. (He was in total disbelief that she would be so rude.)

Unbelief is disagreement without shock. Can be with or without understanding; illogical (Her explaination of events was unbelievable)

Nonbelief is fully understanding and just not buying it. (His nonbelief in the subprime loan market collape resulted in his large stock market investment)

Disbelief is to refuse to credit.

Unbelief is to disbelief in the Gospel

and

Nonbelief is not a real word you can have non belief but nonbelief is not an actual word.......Nonbeliever and nonbelievers are real words though.

the prefix "dis" means to do the opposite of.
The prefix "un" meaning positively opposite to , or contrary to
The prefix "Non" meaning, the reverse of.
