two questions, myths about people?

is it true that a guy who is insecure with himself will try to compensate through other things (Like big tructs, or nice cars)?

and a guy/girl who uses another person to make the one they want jealous are also insecure and jealous themselves?

1st question- Yes many who have the resources do try to compensate for low self estem with fancy things such as cars, jewlery, and clothing. It's human nature to want something to be proud. But this dosen't mean that every person with a nice car is trying to compensate. Just Look at Paris Hilton do you think she has insecutities???

2nd question- I don't think so this is usualy a game. "Look at me and look at what I will do if you don't pay attention" I have a very good friend that is extremely secure in her relationship and know that other girls don't have a chance with her man. But she still imploys this tactic to remind her guy how good he has it and what he would be missing if he messed up.

I guess it depends on the person: I tend to be insecure, and the way I 'compensate' is to focus on doing helpful things for other people. The other situation I'm not at all sure about, because I've never used someone to make someone else jealous, and I've never been used as such.

Yes and yes. Compensating for insecurity and trying to manipulate people thru jealousy are such a waste.

i don't think that it is necessarily true in every situation. Some people might just want a big truck, so i would never assume that just because someone has a big truck or fancy car means that they are trying to compensate anything.
