I do. I think things are too far gone, and whatever we do is too little and too late.

We all feel a bit over whelmed by the events taking place in this world. The only things that we can do is to watch how we expend our own resources, turn off a light when not being used, use compact florescent bulbs. Drive less, ride a bike, walk more, The most important thing that we can do is to educate some of the people that have been brain washed by corporate media systems. Do not get mad at these people they are victims as are we all. But talking about the issues here can help more than you know. Every person that begins to understand how they have been taken for a ride by the corporate media will turn and help with our recovery. The hope is that the numbers of people helping will increase exponentially.

Didn't you hear the news it was on all the major news services! Al Goore Jr. admitted he invented the concept of global warming while campaigning in Nashville, Tn on Nov 1 1998. He knew his campaign for the Democratic nomination was struggling at the time so he needed something to stand apart from all the other contenders. So while on a campaign stop at the Hilton Hotel he told a campaign aide why not create a problem which only he (with a long history of environmental activities) could solve. Although this did not quite get him the presidency it created what many call the greatest new religion of the last 100 years.

To the person above who called everyone who is intelligent enough see thru the global warming hoax an idiot. . Why is it that those who believe in this hoax are the same people who believe in little green men from Mars or blindly believe in anything put out by the media without doing anything to know the facts. The FACTS are that global warming does NOT exist. If you believe it is exists and are a US citizen you have that right even though morally corrupt. What you do not have the right to do is force your uneducated opinion on others. Please ask the relatives of the 2,000 people per day who perish due to the money sprent on this nonsense what their opinion on global warming is. Maybe you should volunteer to NASA to be the first person from Earth to travel to Mars where over the past several years the temperature has risen a lot faster than that of Earth's. You can let the the Martians know how to become environmentalist and to start taking public transportation.

No.

1) Global warming is going to be at most a big inconvenience. For many of us it will not even be that.

2) There are many more serious things to worry about. If I wanted to feel hopeless about something I would pick one of then.

3) As an individual with free choice, I can always act to address my best interests, so what is there to be hopeless about.

No, and thats all global warming is... a political stunt developed by power-crazed neo-communist elitist alarmists, aka environmentalists, is to make you all freaked out that the world is gonna end, so you can by into their doctrines and give them the power to destroy the worldwide economy and starve it of the resources it needs to provide you the life that you are so well acquainted to.

No, im not a proponent of the destruction of the planet, i am a realist, i am not a utopian. ya, these pie in the sky ideas about getting rid of all these things that causes pollution and "global warming" are good ideas, but they arent technologically and economically feasible yet.. and until they are, you just got to go with what you can.

Anyone remember in the 1970s that the biggest craze was global cooling? now its global warming?

Do you know what thewir proposed "cure" for global cooling was? Dumping tar on the poles to make them absorb more heat, and prevent the onset of another Ice Age.
Good thing that was never done, eh? What would it be doing now with this current "global warming" trend? It would be WAY out of control now !!! OH EM GEE!

Yes, I certainly do feel hopeless sometimes, but not for the reason that you would wish for me to do.
I am worried that the greedy fear-mongering AGW cultists will win and the truth (included here for your convenience) will be lost forever.

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

Sorry you feel HOPELESS.

What you should feel, what we all should feel is HELPLESS, because the religion of GLOBAL WARMING is simply a political myth being sold to the people.

It's designed to make you feel both HOPELESS and HELPLESS, so that the only logical conclusion is that you give up more of your rights and freedoms to the "Good Sheppard's" who are going to make it all better by punishing the polluters and industrialist and Capitalist and SUV drivers and Americans and the rich and powerful.

Wow! This whole thing is starting to sound like Communism, albeit in a different suit of clothes.

WAKE UP YOU MORON SHEEP! Stop eating the Soylent Green and start thinking for youeselves!

I do sometimes, until I come here and read all the shrill nonsense spewed by self-proclaimed 'intelligent' people who 'aren't duped' by global warming science. If the only way they can attempt to discredit the science is by calling it 'hippie' and 'neo-communist', then that means the message is effectively getting out to more and more people everyday. The ugly death throes of the so-called 'non-believers' mean that reason and logic are finally winning out, so there may be hope for us all yet!

No, it is not too far. Right now, solar-powered cars are used and it is more and more widespread. This will reduce global warming a lot. And it will be centuries before global warming will destroy the planet and everything living on it. And I believe that at the rate we are going now, scientists will find a way to use cleaner sources instead of petroleum. Also, petroleum is limited, so when it's all used up, there goes your global warming issue!!

Yes, I think the nut jobs who have hijacked the environmental movement for political gain may have grown to a critical mass so that we'll never stop hearing about global warming. That is depressing.

same folks spewing this global warming garbage = same folks spewing global freezing garbage (30 years ago)

oh yeah, it's colder in antarctica on an average daily basis NOW than it has ever been...the coldest temperature was recorded in 1958...according to your time-line theory, right now (2007) and 1958 are next door neighbors.
