Generally the only difference between a food for small breeds and large breeds is the size of the kibble. The composition of the dog food is the same.

Your golden pup should be large enough to chew larger sized kibble (as long as it's a formula for puppies) -- so I would recommend you go with that.

Both are good brands. However, I feed my show GSD's Canidae from the very beginning. Since I started feeding Canidae, I have not had a single issue with osteoartritis issues in my dogs from their growing too fast (where I did on some other large breed formulas).

Get the large breed one. Generally small breed food is for tiny breeds that need a smaller kibble. These little dogs have very light bone structure.
Her bones will be fine. Canidae & Innova are both excellent foods. Sounds like your little golden has found a great owner.

Young lady! You have asked this same question numerous times yesterday and then here you are again today.
I have a total of 31 yeas with Golden's now I told you yesterday that the Canidae is perfect for Golden's both in nutrition and for their bone development. Yet here you are again asking the same question.
Now please take my advice and have your Golden pup on the Canidae.
I would not have suggested this to you if I didn't know it was the best food for a large breed Golden.

Small breed dog require more nourishment per pound than large breed dogs. The food is formulated to reflect this. So, in theory, feeding your small breed dog large breed food would actually cause it to remain smaller. Then there's the problem with kibble size. Kibble designed for a large breed dog is too big for a small breed dog and they run the risk of choking.

Well your dog is a large breed so you are supposed to feed her the formula for large breed so, because their bones need to grow and that's why they need all the nutrients an vitamins . Not all dog food brands are the same and what they put inside the food .

I think puppies should be on puppy food, and then put on adult formulas. Babies have different needs from adults, and I don't see how a food that is appropriate for an adult would give a puppy it's nutritional needs. IOW, I don't see how one food that is good for adults could be good for a puppy at the same time, no matter what it claims. JMO
